Poor Service all the way around

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Transported here due to motorcycle accident in June of 2023. NOT BY CHOICE!

Due to severity of accident and unknowns we were in need of a level II Trauma Center. From the time we were wheeled into the emergency room until we begged to be released 9 hours later, it was a *** show!!! Fortunately, no serious injuries other than a few broken toes, broken ribs and shoulder injury for my husband and lots of road rash and scrapes for both of us so no hospital stay needed. Other than one nurse that night, our treatment was terrible.

Our wounds and injuries were not cleaned or first aid applied, we had to ask for x-rays to be done, and then waited 8 hours to find out that they had no idea when someone would be available to view said x-rays... we finally demanded to be released. (We did follow-up with our primary care doctor at Aspirus in Wisconsin Rapids where she was shocked to say the least on our lack of care received at Marshfield Hospital). When trying to get access to our records from their emergency department, she was actually hung up on.

And to this date, we still have not seen those records.

And now, we have to deal with their billing department- NASTY, nasty people. Multiple bills for the same services with different amounts each time a bill comes and never the same amount twice. My husband has received his bills monthly, I have only received one and that was to inform me that I was being turned into collections for failure to pay. They claim they sent me statements and made several phone calls- none of which were received.

When I asked to speak to someone in charge or a supervisor, they hung up on me.

VERY DISGUSTED with this place.

Years ago Marshfield was THE best medical facility in the area. After this nightmare, I would refuse to go here even if I was dying.

Went to the walk-in

The incompetence from the front desk, to the nurse, to the female doctor taking patients. More specific, had my insurance card ready, they didnt bill it they had self pay down, I had to tell the nurse I needed a stool sample done, believed I had food poisoning, never called with the results. Doctor asked foolish questions that did Not pertain to why I was there. And more, the experience has me afraid to ever go to a doctor again. I would Not recommend this place if they were the last health care agency left.

Being neglected for several hours after a particularly painful surgery.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
From the moment I was sent to a room, I was ignored, with lies to keep me quiet, for 3 hours! That's when I realized no one actually wanted to do their jobs and even my partner being them to help me only got me an ice pack the size of a piece of bologna! That is when I left. Since then I'm in more pain than I can stand and I'm praying my eardrum hasn't broken.

I (nor the rest of my family, approximately 20 of us to far) will no longer be using Marshfield Clinic since, Marshfield Clinic has began mandating the Covid vaccine (a non FDA approved vaccine) for all it's employees, I am encourage all I know to boycott Marshfield Clinic. MY Health care, MY BODY, MY CHOICE!!! Aspirus is encouraging the vaccine but has not mandated it, so they will be my family and my new provider.

Marshfield clinics have done damage with there 3 massive surgeries, plus, and I have incurred nothing but hidden records that were never put into my medical records, and they sat in this Dr. Henningsons office for 6 months!!I have had several arguments with there secretarys because I wanted to make a complaint to the head of Marshfield clinics due to lack of answers to several yrs of ongoing severe decline with my health, so I switched over to Mayo system, but kept trying to get records straight, and asking with whom do I speak with about 3 surgeries that Mayo clinic can not and will not do anything about, but instead tell me to get my answers from Marshfield clinic due to physical decline from those surgeries!!!!I, and my children are highly dissatisfied due to the lack of responsibility of quality of life, and help that I need, and deserve!!!Sincerely piggy patient in the middle!!!!

GI had an appointment at 11:00 am on the 17th and at 11:30 still no doctor. But the Doctor seemed to have plenty of time to stand at the desk talking with the lady there while I sat in the room. Needless to say my problem still exists and I have no idea what the problem with me is. The lost time is very irritating.

Raped by billing dept

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I went to my normal doctor for a physical and a vaccination of which both were supposed to be covered 100% by my insurance company. My doctor and his assistant were super.

I ended up paying $600 out of my pocket because the billing dept. coded it wrong. The insurance company said that the clinic needed to change it and they would pay it. I spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone waiting to talk to somebody in the billing dept.

only for her to tell me it was coded correctly and it's my responsibility to know what my insurance covers. A company health representative said the insurance company agreed that it should be covered and they would pay for it if the coding was properly submitted but the clinic billing dept. refused do so even after being contacted by the company numerous times. After filing a complaint, a very nice lady named Mary called me and said she would try to get it coded properly.

Never happened. After months of fighting with them ,I just paid the bill. It's a very sick feeling knowing they are screwing you and you can't do anything about it .My wife went to Walmart for the same vaccination for a third of the price- which they must have a better billing dept because the insurance covered it 100% the first time like they are supposed to do.

The question I have is I know that they overcharge on everything, but if the insurance company is willing to for pay it, what do they have to gain by screwing the patient? The Marshfield Clinic Sucks!

I actually had this very same issue with Aspirus. My bill was $1100!

My bill was recoded to reflect a wellness check up, that my Ins co pays 100%, then they recoded it back to office visit w/blood work so I had to pay for it! I even had a health advocate look into it. Still, I had to pay. I think the medical field is a crock!

Only want money and do not care for patients any more! Very sad!!!

How else could the Marshfield Clinic put on so many office parties if they DIDN’T OVERCHARGE???

The review results came back, of course the treatment was again deemed appropriate, and they have no reason to believe I am allergic to any drugs. One of the MD's said there is no proof I am allergic to the drugs.

I got a second opinion and they concluded that I am indeed allergic to one of the drugs they gave me. The MD was somewhat condescending and when I pointed out the problems, he did not really care to listen. He just wanted to talk and tell me how things were. He was not my Dr.

so he does not know.

I tried to negotiate the billng, because they were in the wrong, now the bill is on the way to collections. I am not happy to have a bill in collections but I am not paying these "professionals" for amateur care.

I went in for a simple insect bite. I was given a prescription for an antibiotic and sent home. After taking it for about 36 hours I was in excruciating pain. I called and asked to talk to the PA, I was told they were with patients, I left a message. 3 hours later the pain was still unbearable and I called again only to be told they had left for the day. I increased the OTC I was taking. The next day passed without a call back, finally on the 2nd day I decided to try to go to work. Finally they called back, I explained it was better than when I had originally called 2 days ago. But it was still painful, I could not tell if the redness had increased because it was in an area that was hard to see. On the third day after the call I went in for my scheduled appointment, he looked at me and sent me to a surgeon. It appeared that I had had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic and they made an incision and then put me in the hospital. I was told that in about 48 hours this would have been fatal. As I was laying in the hospital I heard someone say "The PA blew it". I found out later my skin had turned black in that area. The surgeons assistant said it was a good thing I came in when I did. I told her I had been in on Monday. So I guess noone had looked at my records. I received a bill for over $5,000, I appealed it based on the fact that this could likely have been prevented had my PA called me back in a timely manner. I appealed the billing and was told the care I had was "deemed appropriate". I appealed the appeal and am waiting for an answer. I am pretty certain that the second appeal will be denied, because the establishment is in financial trouble. While I was in the hospital I had 2 antibiotics in an IV, a mark appeared on my arm. I pointed this out to a nurse and she wasnt sure what it was, another nurse came in and said that was a hive. It seems I was also allergic to whatever drug was in the IV. They continued the IV treatment, when that was done the mark disappeared. I went in for one of my follow up visits and was asked what I was allergic to I said the antibiotic, and whatever was in the IV. I asked for the drug in the IV so I would know what to say the next time I was asked. When she looked at the laptop, apparently nobody had ever noted that, because the drug was not listed on her screen.

I was misdiagnosed ... went in with excruciating back pain, was examined (no xray despite a history of 100+ broken bones).

Was sent home with some prednisone (?) and told to come back in two weeks for physical therapy. Ha!

I was out of my mind in pain and several days later visited another ER and after dismissive treatment by ER personnel, it was determined that I had a Comminuted Fracture of L1. Adding insult to injury, the medical report I received from Marshfield Hospital listed the cause of my visit as "migraine headache" - can you believe that?

Billing all jacked up

I recently had surgery and all went well, even though there were complications, no biggie. The problem is the billing department. They are all over the place. They billed multiple time in various amounts to try to get my insurance to pay as much as possible, which is great but not when you are trying to figure out what you legitimately owe. I'd call and I'd either get someone who couldn't answer a single question and other times the person is a complete jerk. (Tim) Long story short, do not trust their billing department! Do your own research and call multiple times to get the whole picture and then compare it to what your insurance says. Personally I will be going to a different clinic system from now on, at least until they get their heads removed from their fourth point.
